Shun leaders who incite you to cause chaos, youths told
Youths from Kwale county have been urged to shun politicians, using them for chaos and violence.
Speaking in the town while addressing more than 300 youths yesterday, Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said most politicians are targeting to have young people in their campaign rallies to fight their opponents.
“Do not accept to be misused because of Ksh200 that these politicians give you. You are worth more than that,” Oguna said.
He noted that the county has been tranquil, saying the same should be maintained even as the country approaches the election period.
“Hotels in Diani have reported improved business ahead of the festive season because the town is peaceful. Let us maintain the peace during campaign and election time,” he said.
Oguna instead urged the youths to make good use of Government funds and empowerment programmes in a bid to earn a decent livelihood.
