Trans Nzoia: BBI Bill tabled, adopted for public participation
Trans Nzoia County ward representatives on Tuesday adopted the the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) constitutional amendment bill 2020 as the Property of the house paving way for Public Participation.
A session chaired by the speaker, Joshua Mutoto Werunga unanimously agreed that the Bill, which was tabled by the chair of the Assembly Majority Leader Patrick Kisiero, be subjected to Public participation.
The Majority leader said the Bill had been refered to the justice and legal affairs committee justice committee which will engage in public participation forums in all the 5 Sub Counties.
Kapomboi Ward legislature Benard Wanjala said it was wrong for the MCAs to be accused of demanding Sh2 million car grant bribe to support the Bill.
Hospital Ward MCA Eric Wafula said if adopted, the document would bring about inclusivity which communities have been agitating for.
