Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici and her political nemesis governor Anne Waiguru have on Sunday November 28, 2021 buried the hatchet and joined forces to welcome Deputy President William Ruto, who is touring the county to strengthen his support base.

The duo joined Ruto at the consecration and thanksgiving ceremony of the new Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Kirinyaga.

The tour was however punctuated with ugly protests as youths allied to the woman representative set ablaze reflector jackets that were emblazoned with the portraits and name of governor Anne Waiguru.

Ngirici, who has since taken a back seat after Waiguru joined Ruto's camp, promised the county chief a bruising battle in the party primaries.

The lawmaker has umpteenth posited that she shifted the ground from the ruling Jubilee party to Ruto's fold. She has exuded confidence at past events that she has the political acumen to dethrone Waiguru.
