Kirinyaga County Governor Ann Waiguru has blasted the county's woman representative Wangui Ngirici accusing the latter of political naivety.

While addressing Kamwana village residents during the launching of the area dispensary, Waiguru denied the woman representative's claims that she was kicked out of the Deputy President William Ruto-led party.

In the recent past, Wangui has sensationally claimed that she was invited to a meeting at DP Ruto's official residence at Karen where she was coerced into giving up her ambition to vie for the county's top seat.

Wangui said that the (UDA) party wanted her to vie for the Mwea constituency parliamentary seat, an offer she vehemently declined.

"If or when one is afraid, he or she should confess the truth. No one has kicked anyone out of the party," Waiguru told Ngariama residents.

On national politics, Waiguru noted that Kirinyaga residents are backing a DP Ruto candidature for the presidential seat.

She added that the Azimio umbrella under the former prime minister Raila Odinga is not popular in the region.

"They are forcing Azimio down our throats but we are not taking it. It is not popular here. Or is there anyone here willing to support it?" She posed to a charged crowd that shouted 'Ruto' in unison.

However, Ngariama Ward MCA Erastus Ireri who was present at the function did not address the crowd.

The MCA was heckled by the residents from when the governor called him to address the electorates.

The MCA, who the residents accuse of not delivering as per their expectations was forced to cut short his speech and left before the Kamwana meeting ended.
