Nixon Kukubo, who lost in the 2007 presidential election, has announced he will battle it out for the seat in the August 9 polls.

Addressing the press in Bungoma while launching his bid yesterday, Kukubo (pictured) says he will defeat all other aspirants.

He held that owing to his political experience, he has what it takes to lead the country.

“All the leaders seeking presidency are forming coalitions to hide their corruption dealings. I am launching the Mulembe Kingdom so that I can use it to marshall enough votes from Western region. I am optimistic of defeating them all,” he said.

He, at the same time, launched an attack on Azimio La Umoja and those in the Earthquake camp, saying they are unfit to lead this country.

Kukubo, who says he will vie as an independent candidate, is optimistic of defeating both Orange party leader Raila Odinga Deputy President William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi to become the next president.

Kukubo emerged last in the 2007 General Election after garnering 5,929 votes.

He pointed out that Raila and Ruto have both marshalled their communities to support them yet the Luhya leaders have not done so, hence he is working on having the Luhya community rally behind him.
