ODM leader Raila Odinga has been honoured in a colourful event for sacrifices and strides he made towards the fight for democracy.

In an event held at Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi, Raila said he was overwhelmed with the turn of events that made him feel regal.

"I am overwhelmed by what I am seeing today. I thank the organizers of this function and the robes I have been clothed it makes me feel very regal," Raila said.

Raila was also recognised for his role towards peace, championing unity, and development in the country.

During the ceremony organised by Hekima Kaka Society, notable leaders led by media mogul SK Macharia thanked Raila for his exemplary leadership.
