Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition party presidential hopeful Raila Odinga has jetted out of the country.

His handlers have confirmed this development to People Daily Digital after the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya flagbearer talked about the trip, without giving details, while addressing mourners in Kajiado, on Tuesday, June 7.

The former premier had attended the burial of Kajiado Central MP Elija Memusi's wife Stella Memusi.

"It's such an honour that the family accorded me much respect by changing the funeral date to accommodate my schedule. Pushing the funeral two days prior to allow me to attend since I am going abroad tomorrow ( June 8, 2022) shows a lot of respect and love. It is humbling," Raila said.

The trip has been confirmed by Raila's handlers but without giving details of his destination (country) and the reason for his tour.

On Tuesday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader eulogised Mrs Memusi as a brave, social, bubbly and hardworking woman.

He termed her death as untimely calling on traffic police officers to take action over stalled vehicles that pose danger to road users.

Mrs Memusi died on the spot following a road accident in Isinya when a vehicle she was travelling in hit a stalled trailer.

The trailer is reported to have stalled for three days with no signs erected to warn motorists of danger ahead.

He was accompanied by a host of leaders allied to Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition who drummed up support for the alliance.
