Raila says Building Bridges Initiative will find a life in future
ODM leader Raila Odinga yesterday defended the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) saying it was meant to ensure fair sharing of resources.
Raila said that though the reform project was nullified by the Court of Appeal, it will find a new life in future.
He said the initiative had been tailored to ensure equity among Kenyans saying that the current parameters of national resources distribution were unfair and lopsided.
Economically stable
“BBI was not meant to benefit either me or President Uhuru Kenyatta. It was meant to make sure that every Kenyan got their rights in resource distribution.
We were vouching for one-man-one-vote-one shilling,” he said at Ngecha shopping center in Limuru, Kiambu County.
The ODM leader urged Kenyans not to lose hope adding that BBI will be back in future and urged them to rally behind him for the same to be realised.
With a show of hands, the crowd which he addressed assured him of their support in his Azimio la Umoja campaign; which he says is meant to unite the country.
Raila said that the country is yet to realise the vision of it’s founding fathers, 57 years down the line.
He said that his quest to lead the country is motivated by his mission to ensure that the country remains united, peaceful and economically stable.
Raila indicated that his recent national unity declaration was intended to ensure that Kenyans lives like brothers and sisters.
“We want a Kenya where everyone can live, do business and own property in any part of the country without fear or intimidation,” he said.
He also lauded the Church for banning politics at the institutions noting that the same, would ensure that the pulpit remains holy.
