Raila vows to transform lives of Kenyans through his new political journey

ODM leader Raila Odinga now says that his new fangled Azimio la Umoja political journey aims at transforming lives of Kenyans and is not part of the rhetoric political slogans that Kenyans have been treated to by his opponents.

He says that through the said journey, he will engage like-minded leaders in tackling of real issues key in the transformation of the lives of millions of the Kenyans.

Mr. Odinga exuded confidence that he has the ability of uplifting Kenya from a third world economy to a middle income economy by the year 2030.

"We have started a journey which is not about sloganeering but pegged on real issues that will help transform lives of millions of Kenyans,"he said.

The former prime minister further stated that the urge to fulfill the Kenyan dream informed the initiation of the Azimio La Umoja journey.

The ODM leader noted that the nation is still not in the stage of campaigns, and that he is currently just consulting Kenyans as they seek to craft a formula that will see them realize the nation's dreams as coined by its founding fathers.

"It is still possible to realize our Kenyan dream that was coined by the founding fathers of the nation," he said.

He claims that his ongoing nationwide consultations are not pegged to the electioneering campaigns.

Mr. Odinga, who was speaking at the burial of former Councilor James Ombuoro at Nyakongo village in Rarieda constituency, rallied his supporters to ensure that they acquire ID cards and register as voters ahead of next year’s general elections.

He stated that he will only declare his 2022 presidential bid once he has been assured that his supporters are prepared with adequate votes.

"I know that people are eagerly waiting for me to declare for presidency but won't do that yet till we get enough foot soldiers ready with hooks and shields," he added.

He was flanked by EALA MP Dr. Oburu Oginga, Siaya Deputy Governor Dr. James Okumbe, MPs Samuel Atandi (Alego/Usonga), Otiende Amolo (Rarieda) and ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna among others.
