Posta Rangers head coach Stanley Okumbi has hit out at poor officiating against away teams in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and called on the administrators to address the issue.

Speaking shortly after seeing his side succumb to a 2-0 loss against hosts Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday, Okumbi questioned the “many wrong decisions by the centre referee which went against his side which demoralised the players.”

“I am calling upon the match officials to remain competent and treat both teams equally so as to enhance standards of football in the country,” said Okumbi.

“Let the federation also devise ways of evaluating and analysing the performance of each referee in the top tier leagues and give recommendations. This will spur growth of football in the country,” added Okumbi.

The former national football team coach also blamed the loss on individual mistakes that saw his team being punished.

“The match was very balanced and of high quality that saw us commit a few mistakes that gifted the hosts an easy win.

“We, however, want to sit down and fix the loose ends before our next match and keep pushing on,” he added.

Okumbi lauded his new side terming it’s potential in terms of youthful talents as something good for the future.
