Revealed: 86 Kenyans in the diaspora with coronavirus

There are 191 covid-19 infections of Kenyans in the diaspora, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Of these, 86 patients are in the hospital of whom four are in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU).

Seventy seven (77) have recovered while 23 have died.

The United States has reported ten deaths, UK-6, Italy-2, Switzerland-1, Saudi Arabia-1, Sweden-1, South Africa-1 and France-1.

On Sunday, the Health Ministry confirmed 23 more covid-19 case, which brought the total cases in the country to 672. The same day, Kenya confirmed the highest number of discharges, 32, bringing total recoveries to 239.

Health CAS Rashid Aman said 23 of the cases were Kenyans and one foreigner.

Yesterday, the State announced to ban street hawking to combat coronavirus.

Health Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman said that community transmissions had also risen and proven the most challenging in the containment of coronavirus in the country.

While confirming 28 more Covid-19 cases on May 9, Mr. Rashid said transmission within the estates is the biggest threat in the fight against Covid-19.

"Community transmission is the most challenging to contain. All our efforts are aimed at containing that spread. Let us continue to observe the measures in place so that we can flatten our curve," said Mr. Rashid.
