State House race: Ruto courts Western region in 2nd-day campaign tour

Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential flag bearer William Ruto is set to continue with his tour of the Western region for the second day on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in a renewed bid to fill his vote basket.

In a programme seen by People Daily Digital, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential flag bearer and his Kenya Kwanza team are scheduled to tour three counties namely Trans Nzoia, Bungoma and Busia.

The Kenya Kwanza brigade will kick off their rallies at Kiptendet in Cherangany Constituency, Trans Nzoia at around 9:00 am before heading to Kitalale, Saboti Constituency an hour later.

The Deputy President will then storm Bungoma County with a major rally in Kaptama, Mt Elgon Constituency, before heading to the neighbouring Busia County.

In Busia, the country's second-in-command will make several stopovers at Kocholia in Teso North constituency, Amukura (Teso South) and Nasewa (Matayos) before culminating his tour of the county with a rally at Bulemia in Budalang'i at around 4:00pm.

Yesterday, the presidential hopeful held several rallies in Kakamega county in the company of a dozen of allies from the region.

The DP began his tour of the region in Naitiri in Tongaren constituency Kamasielo before making several stopovers in Kimilili, Bumula and Matungu constituencies.

His visit came two days after his Azimio la Umoja counterpart Raila Odinga campaigned in the region.
