Ruto kicks off three-day Nyanza tour this morning

President William Ruto will this morning commence his four-day tour of the Nyanza region to launch development projects in the four counties of Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori counties .

An itinerary released by the Executive Office of the President yesterday indicated that the comprehensive tour covering the four counties will see the Head of State launch various projects to enhance the residents’ quality of life, aligning with the government’s Bottom- Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

In Kisumu County, Ruto will launch the ground-breaking of the Kabonyo Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Centre of Excellence in Nyando constituency.

“The project worth Sh1 billion is aimed at enhancing food security, innovation and employment in Fisheries and Agriculture,” noted the statement.

He will also in the lakeside city commission the Lake Basin Mall, a significant retail and entertainment hub, set to stimulate trade and growth in the region.

In Muhoroni, the president will launch of Koru- Bible College Road that is set to improve connectivity and facilitate the movement of people and goods within the county.

Still in Kisumu, Ruto will launch the MV UIhuru 2, a ship that will operate on Lake Victoria, enhancing transportation, trade, and economic growth, positioning the region as a hub for maritime transport and logistics.

In Siaya, the Head of State will launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 27km Bondo-Uyawi-Kibanga-Lihunda Road.

He will also launch a digital laboratory at Mutumbu Technical Training Institute and proceed to Ugenya where he will launch construction of a Level 4 hospital. On his third day, the president will head to Homa Bay where he will launch the construction of the 53km Mfang’ano Island Ring Road. He will also launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 74km Mbita- Sindo- Kiabuya – Sori Road. Ruto will also visit Victory Fish Farms in Sindo, a project described as crucial for the growth of aquaculture.  sector.
