Ruto leaves Kenya on first official visit to UK, US

President William Ruto has left the country for his first official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (US).

He was accompanied by Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials, among others.

The Head of State will make his first stop at the United Kingdom where he will attend the state funeral of departed monarch Queen Elizabeth II which will be held at Westminster Abbey.

Ruto will be among 500 foreign dignitaries to attend the ceremony scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2022.

Upon his arrival in the UK, Ruto will be hosted for dinner by King Charles III.

The Commander-in-Chief will later head to the US for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) set for Wednesday, September 21, 2022, after his tour in the UK.

At the US, Ruto is expected to meet President Joe Biden and other officials from the American chamber of commerce.
