State House race: Ruto returns to Nyeri, Murang’a counties as campaigns enter homestretch

State House race: Ruto takes campaigns to Narok, Kajiado counties amid jitters over election postponement

Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto is set to campaign in two counties in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region on Tuesday, August 2, as the campaigns enter the home stretch.

In a programme seen by People Daily Digital, the DP is expected to return to Nyeri and Murang'a barely a week after he toured several constituencies in the counties.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party candidate and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua will begin their campaigns in Narumoru, Kìeni Constituency, and then proceed to Nyeri Town Constituency at noon.

In the afternoon, the Kenya Kwanza team will storm Karatina in Mathìra Constituency, Murang'a Town, Kìharù Constituency and culminate the tour with a rally in Kìhoya, Kangema Constituency.

Ruto has been to the Mt Kenya region severally with his recent rallies covering Kiambu and Nyandarua counties.

Ruto's Azimio One Kenya coalition rival Raila Odinga is set to campaign in Kisii ahead of the August 9 polls.

The Azimio leader and his running mate Martha Karua are expected to campaign in at least six constituencies.

The constituencies include; Bonchari, Kitutu Chache North, Nyaribari Chache, Nyaribari Masaba, Bomachoge and Bobasi.
