Wanga reveals 3 key development projects Ruto will launch during Homa Bay visit

President William Ruto will on Friday, January 13, 2023, begin his two-day working tour of the Luo Nyanza counties including; Kisumu, Homa Bay and Siaya.

Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga welcomed Ruto to ahead of his visit through a statement she issued through her social media handles.

"H.E President S. Ruto will tomorrow be making an official visit to Homa Bay county. This visit, which we as Homa Bay people warmly embrace, could not have come at a better time considering the upward trajectory in development, service delivery and economic and social growth of our people which the county is in now," Wanga said in part in the statement.

The Homa Bay governor further revealed three development projects that Ruto will launch during his official visit.

Wanga said will preside over the groundbreaking of the first phase of the Homabay Affordable Housing Program.

"As the first county to have entered into an MOU with National Housing Corporation on affordable housing, we are esctatic to welcome the President to preside over the groundbreaking of the first phase of the Homabay Affordable Housing Program," Wanga said,

She also revealed that Ruto will commission the Homa Bay Town Municipal Market.

"The President will also officially commission the Homabay Town Municipal Market, which has been a revelation in the economic transformation of Homabay town," she said.

"Further, the President will inspect the ongoing efforts of revitalization the blue economy and the lakefront regeneration by visiting the Homabay Pier and the fish market as well as the Non-motorized walkway from the junction Kodoyo to the Pier," she added.

The Homa Bay governor further urged local leaders and residents to give Ruto a befitting reception as they engage him in matters development.

"These are priceless opportunities in the journey towards positively transforming the lives of 'jothurwa' through the development of our county," Wanga said.

"We urge the leaders and residents to give the President a befitting reception as we talk development," she added.
