Ex-KDF Chief Samson Mwathethe gets new appointment

Former Chief of Defence Forces Samsom Mwathethe has been appointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute following new changes in boards and state corporations by President William Ruto.

This is as indicated in a Gazette Notice dated February 3, 2023.

Mwathethe will serve for a period of three years.

Meanwhile, the Head of State subsequently revoked the appointment of John Waithaka.

In the other appointments, President Ruto also appointed Jane Lagat to replace Wanjiku Kabira as Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board, for a period of three years.

President Ruto further appointed Aden Noor Ali to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority, for a period of three years and consequently revoked the appointment of Agnes N. Odhiambo.

Others appointed were Mzee Mwinyi Mzee as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority, for a period of three years to replace Philip Charo.

The President additionally appointed five individuals to serve as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, for a period of three years. He revoked the appointment of Dennis Awori.

All the new appointees’ tenure in office began on February 3, 2023.
