School boy admitted at Kenyatta after alleged stabbing by colleague
A 17-year-old boy from Wahundura Boys Secondary school in Mathioya, Murang'a county is fighting for his life at the Kenyatta National Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by a colleague in school last Sunday.
Simon Muchunu is said to have quarreled with the schoolmate Hesbon Kuria over a padlock when the latter took a knife and stabbed him on the head.
Upon reporting the matter to the teacher, Muchunu was taken to Kiriani mission hospital where he was stitched and returned to school.
However, bleeding continued and he was taken back to the hospital for dressing.
According to Grace Nyambura, Muchunu's sister, the brother borrowed a phone from a stranger and called home to inform the parents of the incident.

The parents went to school on Monday and upon inquiring on the state of their son, the teacher told them he was doing okay after being treated at the hospital.
"We insisted on seeing him to know how he was doing and he complained of headache," said Nyambura.
The parents went to Kiriani Police Station and obtained a P3 for after which they took Muchunu back to hospital where he had a CT scan that revealed he had a fracture on his skull resulting to internal bleeding.
He was referred to Murang'a District Hospital where he was given a further referral to Kenyatta National Hospital where is currently admitted.
"We were told he has blood clots in the head which was caused by the internal bleeding though he is in a stable condition," she said.
The sister said she does not understand why the school administration failed to inform them of the incident claiming they were trying to cover up the mess.
"Upon inquiring the whereabouts of the culprit, we were told he ran away from school and cannot be traced," she said.
"We want to know why the student has not be arrested and why the school has been trying to cover the matter," she added.
Effort to reach Wahundura Boys administration for comments were futile.
