Wiper Democratic Movement has told off Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu over her claims that its leader Kalonzo Musyoka is sabotaging her development agenda in the county.

The party took issue with Ngilu’s claims that Kalonzo was using MCAs to fight her development agenda, and told her to carry her own cross.

Kitui Senator Enock Wambua, a close ally of the former Vice President, dismissed Ngilu’s assertions as unfortunate, saying they were meant to besmirch Kalonzo as an anti-development leader.

“What a shame from a person who personifies failure, political treachery and deceit. Ngilu must desist from dragging the name of Kalonzo Musyoka to her self-inflicted woes,” Wambua said in a statement to newsrooms.

The former journalist-turned-politician asked the Governor to apologise to the electorate for “wastage of their time and theft of their resources by some individuals in her administration”.

Pass budget

“Ngilu has essentially abandoned her duties as Governor of Kitui County and opted to be a messenger.

Her new assignment is characteristically simple but very evil; try to stand in the way of Kalonzo and scuttle any attempts to seal a working relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta,” the senator said.

On Tuesday, Ngilu claimed Kalonzo had instructed Wiper ward reps in the Assembly to frustrate her and deny Kitui residents development.

She cited the delay by the MCAs to pass the Supplementary Budget, alleging they were following instructions from Kalonzo.

But Wambua rubbished the claims and told Ngilu to stop dragging Kalonzo’s name into her failures.

He also  accused some senior government personalities of shielding Ngilu from being prosecuted over her “misdeeds” in the country.

Wambua warned that all the government personalities shielding Ngilu should brace themselves for a major shock when the truth about “mega looting in the county government” is finally made public.

Wambua also wants the government to investigate Ngilu over the fire incident that burnt the county government Finance office last year.

Key records and equipment worth millions of shillings were destroyed.

Wambui now wants thorough investigations into the incident that destroyed the office complex that is usually under a 24-hour guard by the Administration Police.

He says despite the county Assembly having adopted a report that had laid blame on Ngilu  for the inferno, no action has been taken.

“In the report, the committee isolated Ngilu, in her capacity as Governor of Kitui county, as the first person of interest and recommended that she be investigated. We want the recommendations of this report implemented immediately,” Wambua said.
