Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has said the cost of power and fuel will come down soon.

Speaking on Thursday, Matiang'i said fuel prices was already under assessment.

"The government's focus is to bring down the cost of power by addressing challenges that result in costs to consumers.

"We are starting with an immediate aggressive review of Kenya Power Care billing system, suspension of ongoing and pending negotiations with independent power pruducers while we review existing agreements.

"Fuel prices are already under assessment and Wananchi will see the results in the next price review as we have addressed key systemic challenges," he said.

The EPRA received nationwide criticism last month after it announced a rise in fuel prices.

The body announced an increase in prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Ksh7.58, Ksh7.94 and Ksh12.97 per litre respectively.
