The special guest who was to grace Speaker Justin Muturi's endorsement as Democratic Party presidential flagbearer failed to turn up at Bomas where the event is currently ongoing.

Muturi was expecting his event to be graced by retired and former President Mwai Kibaki but the former Head of State did not turn up.

With the DP party having been formed by Kibaki alongside John Keen in 1991 after repealing Section 2A of the constitution, Kibaki was the likeliest surprise guest who had been organized to grace Muturi's major event.

The retired President sent his apologies saying he didn't make it for the endorsement ceremony that would later see Muturi launch his presidential campaigns across the country, due to unavoidable circumstances.

Muturi who is already at Bomas with over 1,000 DP delegates will be declared the party's presidential flagbearer to battle it out with Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Muturi will be endorsed for the country's top leadership at a time when major political realignments continue to be witnessed across the political spectrum.
