The government has kicked off the process of recruiting a new Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee after the founding team’s term expired last month.

The team got a six-month extension to facilitate the hiring process.

The team deals with relationship between one county and another and between the national government and county governments, dispute resolution between the two levels of government and amongst the counties.

This includes creating sustainable linkages between the counties and between the national government and the counties that provide opportunity for vibrant intergovernmental consultation and cooperation.

Unveil panel

Devolution Cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa yesterday unveiled a panel that will undertake the interviews to replace former Education PS Karega Mutahi-led team, amid cries from Council of Governors that the previous team did not do much due to underfunding.

Speaking during the unveiling of the team at the Treasury Building, Wamalwa said it expected to complete the requirement process within the next three months, saying there is much work for the members to execute.
