The national government plans to construct a Kenya Defence Forces Camp in Mutha, Kitui South-Sub county to curb insecurity.
According to Brigadier Retired Faustin Sirare, who is the chairperson Ministerial Committee of Defence Forces on matters of Land and construction, Kamba and Somali herders have been fighting over water and pasture since 1992.
The region lies on the porous border between Kitui, Garissa and Tana River counties.
During the public participation, the residents asked the government to compensate all who would be affected by the establishment of the camp in different ways.
