Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu to address a joint Parliamentary sitting in Kenya
Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan will on Wednesday address a joint Parliamentary sitting at the National Assembly chamber in Nairobi.
President Suluhu is expected in the country on Tuesday for a two-day official visit.
In Gazette Notice issued by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Senate counterpart Kenneth Lusaka, she will address the joint sitting at 2:30.
"Notice is given to all members of the National Assembly that pursuant to the provisions of the Standing order 25 (1) of the National Assembly in consultation with the Speaker of the Senate, has arranged for a Joint Sitting of Parliament to be held on Wednesday 5th May 2021 at 2:30 p.m at the National Assembly chamber, main parliament buildings, Nairobi for purposes of an address by Her Excellency Samia Suluhu, President of the United Republic of Tanzania," read the notice by Speaker Muturi.
President Suluhu will also hold talks with her host President Uhuru Kenyatta.
She will also attend and address a meeting of businessmen from Kenya and Tanzania. The meeting will deliberate on business and investments opportunities available in the two nations.
This is the first time President Samia will be touring Kenya in her capacity as the Head of State.
Her visit comes weeks after she toured Uganda and held talks with President Yoweri Museveni that saw two nation sign business deals.
