Three mourners die, scores hurt in dawn

It was a double tragedy after three people who were going for a burial died when the vehicle they were traveling in collided head on with a lorry.
The dawn accident, which left scores injured and fighting for their lives at the AIC Kijabe Hospital happened at Kimende in Kiambu county.
The Toyota Hiace van was moving towards Nakuru, when it collided head-on with a lorry transporting dry maize to Nairobi.
Lari sub county Police Commander Stephen Kirui while confirming the incident said two of them died on the spot, while the third one died at AIC Kijabe Hospital owing to bleeding and injuries he had sustained.
Kirui added that 10 other passengers were admitted at the hospital receiving treatment, after being involved the 6am accident.
