Three police officers from Kayole arrested for robbing two businessmen Sh6 million

Rogue cops arrested after doing robbery in Eastleigh.

Three police officers from Kayole police station and a Cameroonian were on Saturday morning arrested after they robbed two Somali nationals of USD60,000 (Sh6 million) in Eastleigh Nairobi.

The two victims Mohammed Hassan Mohammed and Abdullahi Hussein Yusuf reported that were attacked at Barwqo Lodge along 8th Street 2nd Avenue by six armed men at around 2am

The men, four of them armed with pistols, ordered them to surrender all the money they had. Immediately the gang left the room, they raised alarm and officers on patrol responded.

They arrested four suspects. While conducting search and interrogating the suspects, they realised that they were actually police officers from Kayole police station.

Police headquarters identified the suspects as Corporal Wilson Cheruiyot who was armed with a Jericho pistol, Constable Daniel Kipkorir who was armed with a Ceska pistol and Constable Alex Kandie who was armed with a Jericho pistol. All the three are patrol officers with the call sign “Kayole Six”. The fourth suspect was identified as Esome Jean Baptist, a Cameroonian.

Two other suspects who escaped from the scene are being sought, and one of them has been identified as Constable Mwaniki.

Officers recovered USD 35,200 (Sh3.52million) from the arrested suspects and a pocket phone.
