A Nairobi court has issued arrest warrant against a British citizen accused of conspiracy to defraud a city bank over Sh700 million for failing to appear in court for plea taking.

Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe directed that arrest order against Gaurav Jayeshkumar Kotecha be effected by Interpol (Police) since the suspect is in UK.

When the case came up for mention, a senior State prosecutor informed the court that Gaurav has not been arrested.

He applied for his arrest warrant, which he said will be effected by Interpol. Gaurav is charged alongside his father, Javesh Kumar Prabhudar Kotecha, a director of Midland Hauliers, who pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is out on Sh2 million cash bail.
