Police officers are hunting a man identified as Rogers Kwemoi for allegedly killing his wife in Kipyoywan sub location, Trans Nzoia West sub county, after a suspected domestic feud.

The body of the woman, identified as Esther Temko and a mother of four, was found by her children lying motionless in bed inside their one-roomed matrimonial house at around 7.00am. The body had no wounds.

One of the children of the deceased said her father had beaten her mother the previous night and locked the house. The kids were shocked to wake up to a motionless body of their mother lying in her bed.

“I was shocked to find the lifeless body of my mother in the morning when I tried waking her up to prepare breakfast for us,’’ said the 7-year-old first born girl.

Several neighbours who spoke to the People Daily claimed the couple has been having constant quarrels, sometimes leading to serious fights at night.

“On Thursday night there was a serious fight between the two. The man who beat up his wife in front of his children left after realizing what he had done. We suspect that he fled after realizing that he had killed her. This is an unfortunate situation for the woman leaving behind very little children,’’John Etyang said.

Confirming the incident, trans Nzoia West Deputy County Police Commander Peter Lobolia said Police were in pursuit of the suspect.

The body now lies at the Kitale County Referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
