The United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) National Elections Board (NEB) has provided an update on its preparedness for the upcoming grassroots elections.

The NEB said it will ensure that electronic voting gadgets, already in the country, will be transported to designated stations promptly and securely.

"The Board resolved to ensure that the electronic voting gadgets to be used - which are already in the country -will be transported to their stations in good time and placed in safe custody. Additionally, our teams have conducted thorough assessments to ensure the readiness of each venue, addressing any logistical or infrastructure requirements well in advance of the elections,"  NEB confirmed via a statement.

To educate party members on election protocols, the NEB has planned comprehensive sensitization meetings in the respective counties where the elections will take place.

These efforts will be amplified through the Party's social media platforms and mainstream media channels to ensure widespread dissemination of information.

"The Board also agreed to undertake comprehensive members sensitization meetings in the counties where election will be held to ensure party members are well briefed on the election processes. The sensitization messages will also be amplified in the Party's social media platforms as well as heightened activities in the main-stream media," the board revealed.

In anticipation of the electronic voting process, the NEB is actively recruiting and training personnel to manage the electronic election competently.

While the voting process will be electronic, physical presence at respective polling stations is mandatory for participation.

"The Board is currently in the process of identifying and recruiting the personnel that will conduct the elections. Once this is done, the Board will undertake sufficient training to ensure that they are well equipped to handle the electronic election.

"For clarification purposes, party members are notified that the election will be purely electronic. However, voting will be physical and thus those to take part MUST present themselves at their respective polling stations," the board pointed out.

The NEB has scheduled separate meetings with aspirants contesting various seats, including County and Constituency Level aspirants, as well as elected and nominated leaders from the Phase One slated counties.

UDA meetings

These crucial meetings, to be held at the UDA Party headquarters in Nairobi, aim to address any queries and concerns while ensuring comprehensive awareness of election procedures and guidelines.
