Deputy President William Ruto yesterday condemned what he termed as intimidation and Statesponsored violence to frustrate his presidential bid.

While on his fourth day of campaigns in Nairobi County, Ruto said the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will not be intimidated.

He was speaking when he held rallies in ODM leader Raila Odinga’s political bedrock of Kibra, Lang’ata and Dagoretti North constituencies.

“We will not buy threats, we will not buy tribalism. What we need is the agenda for the millions of ordinary Kenyans who do not have jobs,” he said.

The DP accused his opponents of planning to change the constitution to create more positions for themselves while ignoring the plight of the contemporary citizens.

Change lives “Our opponents are interested in constitutional amendments to create space for politicians and add them more power. We want to tell them that we shall change the lives of these people first before we create more positions for politicians,” he said.

Ruto said this year’s election is about liberation. “This year, we will liberate ourselves from tribalism, intimidation and blackmail. We are telling our competitors to spare us the threats and intimidation and the fear you are selling to us,” said Ruto.
