Uhuru re-advertises auditor general position, urges citizens to apply
President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again advertised the position of Auditor General after the Public Service Commission (PSC) failed to find a suitable candidate.
Secretary to the Public Service Commission placed a re-advertisement in local dailies announcing the vacant post and asked qualified individual to apply.
In the advert, Uhuru asked interested candidates to submit detailed Curriculum Vitae, copies of identity card or passport, copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and any other relevant supporting documents by December 30.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 (2) of the Public Audit Act, 2015, l, Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-chief of the Defence Forces, announces a vacancy in the position of Auditor General and invites applications from qualified persons for the nomination for appointment to the office,” read an advertisement by the Executive Office of the President, Head of Public Service.
Last week, the Panel chair Sammy Onyango, a former Deloitte East Africa chief executive officer, said they had failed to get three names from the 17 shortlisted to submit to Uhuru for appointment.
Uhuru appointed Onyango and six others in September to help recruit the next Auditor-General after Edward Ouko’s term ended in August.
Among those interviewed was deputy Auditor General William Otieno Agunda and Abdullahi Idris Abdi.
