UoN, Kenyatta University to hold graduation ceremonies

Thousands of University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University (KU) students will graduate today.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu are expected to attend KU’s 52nd graduation ceremony. The theme of the graduation is ‘Education and Research for Economic Prosperity’.

At the University of Nairobi, 6,595 graduands will be conferred with degrees and diplomas with Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang and the Chancellor Vijoo Rattansi expected to preside over the 68th graduation ceremony.

Micro enterprises

A majority of universities including Masinde Muliro, Mount Kenya and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have already held held their graduation ceremonies.

President William Ruto has promised to create a platform for the youths to generate job opportunities.

The government, he said, will strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMS) sector through education, skills and training, to support the establishment of innovation hubs for the development of skills, talents, and incubation of start ups.
