Confusion has rocked Azimio la Umoja Coalition over the list of nominees to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

It has emerged that the Raila Odinga-led coalition has changed its nominees thrice with the latest dropping Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Oginga from the list and replaced by his Isiolo counterpart Fatuma Dullo.

A source who confided in People Daily charged that Dullo, who is the current Minority Whip will now be a nominee representing Jubilee Party at the Senate.

The move angered Dr Oburuwho had to cut short his induction session at the Coastal city and flew back to Nairobi to have a one-on-one with Raila over the nomination to PSC.

In the new changes, Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina will now be the Minority whip to be deputized by Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni.

Reservations

Initially, Omogeni had been listed to represent ODM and by extension Azimio in the Senate, a move that was changed and Omogeni was replaced with Oburu-Raila’s elder brother.

Interestingly, convicted Sirisia MP John Waluke who had been nominated by his Jubilee Party and his nomination paper presented to him by Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has now been dropped in the new changes.

In new changes, Omogeni has now been picked as deputy Minority Whip to replace Ole Kina who has been promoted as the whip for Azimio.

However, Omogeni has expressed reservations over the list of PSC nominees submitted to Parliament.

Omogeni said that it was unacceptable that a slot meant for him had been snatched from him and given to another person.

He argued that it was only fair that the position went to the Gusii region since the Luo Nyanza counties had occupied other lucrative positions.

Speaking to Journalists during the Senate Induction Retreat in Mombasa yesterday, Omogeni said that it was key leadership positions should be distributed to regions equally.
