Wamuchomba heckled at Githunguri as she sells the BBI to locals
Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba was on Wednesday forced to cut short her speech on the advantages of the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) after residents of Githunguri shouted her down.
In an event which was graced by the Interior Principal Secretary(PS) Karanja Kibicho, Gathoni legislator unsuccessfully tried to convince the charged crowd that the report means well to them.
She was forced to cut her speech prematurely and hand over the microphone to the area Member of Parliament(MP) Gabriel Kago before leaving the meeting in a huff.
Later, Kibicho drummed up support for the BBI and urged Kenyans to beware of people out to confuse them on the contents of the document.
The PS assured the residents that President Uhuru Kenyatta will retire in 2022 once his second term end and the contents of the document are tailored to be his people's inheritance.

He urged locals to read in between the lines and weigh President Uhuru’s motive and realize that his intentions are to leave them in a politically and economically secure environment.
Kibicho who spoke while opening Matuguta police station urged the residents to support the implementation of the BBI report saying they are set to benefit contrary to views aired by those opposing it.
With a Nigerian analogy, Kibicho warned the people of Mt Kenya to stop chasing a rat while leaving the house burning.
“There was a man whom his house was burning, he saw a rat and because a rat is not a pet he started chasing it leaving the house burning,” he said.
He said the BBI will benefit the people of Mt Kenya who have previously suffered over the years due to post-election violence.
“We want the people of Mt Kenya to not worry who is President or not, even after 50 years, as BBI will ensure systems will be working irrespective who is in power," the PS said.
Kibicho said BBI has addressed revenue sharing dreadlock as well as tea, coffee and milk farming which are the economic backbone of the Mt Kenya people.
Members of Parliament MPs who attended the event weighed into the BBI debate and asked Mt Kenya people to fully support the report.
Speaker after speaker, they all called on locals to rally behind President Uhuru’s BBI agenda and development projects.
Gatundu North MP Wanjiku Kibe said President Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) leader Raila Odinga want a united country devoid of divisive politics.
Kibe said that Mt Kenya will benefit from lion share of Mp seats.
“In Kiambu, we shall have six density slots, this means that Kiambu people will benefit in terms of development projects,” she stated.
The PS was inspecting security projects in Githunguri and Lari constituencies.
Other leaders present were Kiambu Deputy Governor Joyce Ngugi, MPs Joseph (Joseph Gatanga), Johna Mburu ( Lari), Kiambu County commissioner Wilson Wanyaga and County Commander Ali Nuno.
