Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party presidential hopeful Jimmy Wanjigi has now threatened to leave the outfit over "unfair nomination " rules.

Wanjigi said it was wrong for the party to adopt consensus route for nominations when the party constitution was saying voters must be involved.

"The party constitution says the nominations are done through the delegate system and you cannot abdicate that," Wanjigi said on Sunday.

The presidential contender also said before leaving the party, he will demand for his contribution to be refunded.

"You cannot just leave like that. We have invested heavily in this party and we must be refunded, " he said.

He claimed he was the most popular candidate to carry the party's flag in next years general elections.

Wanjigi has been crisscrossing the country trying to dethrone ODM party leader Raila Odinga as the outfit's presidential candidate next year.
