Why are police at City MCA’s beck and call

An MCA in Nairobi has been accused of using security officers to intimidate his opponents.

The politician, who represents a ward in the leafy suburbs, always moves around with armed officers.

The officers are usually paid at the end of the day to do other unofficial duties including clearing the road for him or escorting the politician’s children to school and wife on personal errands.

Perhaps the Inspector General should explain what is so special about the MCA that he has so many bodyguards at his beck and call.
