Woman accuses Lusaka of neglecting unborn baby, demands Sh25m

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has been sued by a woman seeking Sh25 million payment for the upkeep of their unborn child.  

The woman who claims to be Lusaka’s girlfriend wants the court to compel him to make a monthly maintenance fee of Sh200,000 in order for her to meet the direct or indirect needs of their unborn child.

I.M says she has been in a relationship with the Speaker for three years, which resulted in her getting pregnant.

“Pending the hearing and determination of this petition, the respondent be ordered to support the unborn child by making a lump-sum payment of Sh25 million or any other reasonable amount in the circumstance which should meet the direct and/or indirect needs of their unborn child and after its birth,” the petition reads.

The woman further claims that they fell out with Lusaka when he insisted she terminates the pregnancy. 

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, the woman wants the court to compel Lusaka to accept and take responsibility for the foetus.

Justice James Makau certified the matter as urgent and directed that Lusaka be served with the petition.The judge directed that the case be heard on July 7.
