Delegates of Uganda's ruling party are meeting here on Saturday to discuss the 2021 elections roadmap and endorse incumbent president Yoweri Museveni as the party's presidential candidate in the polls.

Museveni opened the second meeting of the third national delegate's conference of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) at Namboole stadium, about 10 km east of the capital, Kampala.

More than 20,000 members of the party's National Conference, the supreme organ of the NRM, are also expected to discuss strategies for the execution of the 2021 electoral roadmap.

The party's National Executive Committee (NEC), which sat on Friday at State House Entebbe, about 40 km south of Kampala, endorsed Museveni as the candidate to run for the presidency. (Xinhua)
