Former Gatanga Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth has reiterated his support for Raila Odinga in the quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta describing the former premier as humble.

Speaking on Monday, January 24, Kenneth described Raila as a humble leader recalling his incarceration's in the '90s.

"Kuna mtu ameongea hapa kuhusu kuwa mnyenyekevu. Huyu mzee ni mnyenyekevu. And you can go to history, Moi alimuweka ndani mara tatu. Akatokea wakafanya kazi na Moi," Kenneth said.

The former MP who was speaking during Azimio la Umoja's rally in Thika further recalled the Government of National Unity that saw President Mwai Kibaki and Raila work together after the controversial 2007 presidential election.

"Akaenda akashika Kibaki, tukaenda referendum mambo ikaenda mrama wakakosana baadaye wakashikana wakaform Grand Coalition," he said.

Peter Kenneth then pointed out the handshake between Raila and Uhuru stating that Raila's humility saw him step away from his quest for power and embrace his key political antagonist Uhuru in order to further nationwide unity and development.

"Wakapambana na Rais Uhuru, wakati wote wakagundua kimeumana… kuna watu wanafanya mambo mengine ya bandia… wakashikana, wakasalamiana wakasema the country is greater than individuals," Kenneth added.

Raila met leaders from Murang'a county at Thika Golf Club before speaking to area residents at the Thika Golf Club.
