ATHLETICS: Youngster Joyline Chepkemoi is stamping her authority on the track after recording impressive results in several junior athletics competitions. She trains at Lemotit Athletics Training camp in Londiani Sub-County in Kericho County with her coach, Paul Kemei.

Chepkemoi has now fixed her eyes on major athletics events across the world and has vowed to stop at nothing until she achieves her dream of becoming one of the elite athletes not only in Kenya but across the world.

The Form One student at Kalyet Secondary School has demonstrated that she is destined for greater achievements in the world of athletics.

“I am serious in my training because I am ready to go places on matters athletics. I am not backing down until I realise my dreams of becoming a celebrated sportswoman the world over”, Chepkemoi said.

Her training is indeed bearing fruits. In last week’s Under 20 trials for South Rift region held at the Kericho Green stadium she comfortably won the 3000m race to book a ticket for upcoming national trials.

She is the winner of Agnes Tirop Memorial World Cross-Country Tour in 5km girl’s race. Chepkemoi also won the race over the same distance during the January Athletics Kenya (AK) National Cross-Country championships where she was the victor.

Cherono hopes to book her spot in the national team for the World Under 20 Athletics Championships slated for August in Cali, Colombia.
