AFC Leopards hand Cliff Nyakeya, Jaffari Owiti new deals

AFC Leopards have extended Cliff Nyakeya's deal ahead of the 2022/23 FKF Premier League season.

The club announced on Tuesday that the attacker had reached an agreement with the club and had signed a new one-year deal which will see him stay till the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

"AFC Leopards has reached an agreement with Kenyan International Cliff Nyakeya to extend his stay at the club, the club announced.

"He has signed a new one-year contract," the statement added.

The Harambee Stars winger said he was pleased with the new deal and was looking forward to the next season.

"I'm happy to have extended my stay at AFC Leopards. Looking forward to a great pre-season as we prepare for the new season." Nyakeya stated.

Nyakeya joined AFC Leopards from Wazito FC last season. He had returned to the local league after a stint with the Egyptian side FC Masr.

The club has also extended Jaffari Odenyi Owiti's deal for two years. Owiti joined Leopards in January 2018 from Chemilil FC.

He will be itching for more playing time this season after returning from an anterior cruciate ligament surgery that kept him out of action for a year.

Other players who extended their deals with Leopards are defenders Robert Mudenyu and Collins Shivachi who have also signed new one-year deals with the FKF Premier League side.

Goalkeeper Maxwell Muchesia Mulili was handed a new three-year deal at the club while South Sudanese International Mousa Saad penned a new one-year deal.

The club also handed Captain Eugene Mukangula, centre back Tedian Esilaba and forward Ojo Olaniyi new one-year deals at the den.
