Matchday four actions between Tuesday and Wednesday mark the resumption of the CAF Champions League as top African teams fight for crucial points.

A number of teams, at this juncture, are fighting for crucial points that will propel them to the knockout phase of the inter-club competition.

Group A will attract attention because of how tough it has proved to be since day one. South African and African Football League champions Mamelodi Sundowns are at the top of the group just because of goal difference.

After three games, former champions TP Mazembe and Pyramids of Egypt, as well as Nouadhibou, are all on four points.

Pyramids will host the Premier Soccer League giants Sundowns after a goalless show in Pretoria. The point accrued in the south was seen as a massive result for the Egyptian side, and the game on Tuesday promises to be a big one.

This is Pyramids' debut campaign in the African top club competition and will be greatly gauged by not only how they generally perform but especially what they get or lose while playing Sundowns, the 2016 champions.

Following a poor performance - two consecutive group losses, Wydad AC managed a win over Simba SC of Tanzania, and the Group B rivals will meet again.

Wydad made a technical change as the struggle in the group looked persistent, as they fired Adel Ramzi and appointed Faouzi Benzarti, an experienced Tunisian tactician.

Petro de Luanda of Angola will hope to win and extend the gap at the top of Group C. Their next opponents are ES Tunis, who are three points behind the leaders.

On Wednesday, when there is only one game, Yanga SC will play Ghana's Medeama in a must-win match for the East African side.
