Rumours swirling around the future of Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack were yesterday dismissed as unnecessary.

Speculation has been rife that the Englishman who left for holiday last Friday on request would not return to K’Ogalo.

The have been reports of a fractured relationship between the club management over signing and release of players in the current transfer window with the coach getting frustrated over a matter that he has no say on.

Now some club followers are arguing that Polack might follow the route of former tacticians Hassan Oktay and Dylan Kerr  who left for good in a similar manner.

However, the club vice-chairman Francis Wasuna has dismissed the allegations as nonsense, urging the fans to remain patient since Polack is still under contract with the 18-time KPL champions.

“Our Coach is with us and the things being said out there could not be further from the truth.

All this stuff of him going away are just rumours which have no weight. I can confirm Polack is staying with us.

In fact he has another year on his contract that I am certain he will honour as a professional.

“At the end of last month, we gave him a one-way ticket but he asked for a return ticket which was cheaper.

As far as we are concerned, the coach is on a 10-day holiday break with his family and will return once his rest time is over,” stated Wasuna, sating that the club has the best interest of the former Asante Kotoko tactician at heart.

Wasuna trashed allegations from a section of fans claiming Polack is not being involved in club recruitments.

“As a club, we give the technical bench the leeway to operate freely. Indeed coach Polack had a hand in all players that came through because of his recommendations.”
