Man United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has today bid farewell to the now ex-United manager Solskjaer Ole Gunnar.

Ole's exit comes barely four months after being handed a three-year contract extension.

In a social media post, the 36-year old wrote;

"He’s been my striker when I first came to Old Trafford and he’s been my coach since I came back to Man. United. But most of all, Ole is an outstanding human being. I wish him the best in whatever his life has reserved for him. Good luck, my friend! You deserve it!

The words were accompanied with two pictures of when Ole was his teammate and recently when he worked as his manager.

Ole Gunnar was sacked over the weekend after Saturday afternoon's humiliating 4-1 defeat away at newly-promoted Watford.

The loss at Vicarage Road marked United's fifth loss in their opening 12 league matches this season.

In his final game in charge for Manchester United, the Red's captain Harry Maguire was sent off after being handed the second yellow card on the 69th minute.

Former England midfielder Michael Carrick now takes over as caretaker boss at United ahead of new appointments at the end of the season.
