After a full season of no football action due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the much-awaited Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Division II League Central Zone will officially kick off this weekend, with six scintillating fixtures across Nyanza, Rift Valley, and Western Region.

Six teams from Kisii and Nyamira counties are representing the region in their quest for promotion to the third tier league Betking National Division One League and they are said to be getting ready for the big kick-off.

Kiendege Jets and Nyamira United will be flying Nyamira county flag while Sameta, Nyabururu, Kiamabundu FC, and White Hearts will carry the Kisii county hopes where coach Wilfred Makori led side Kiamabundu FC will launch their campaign away against Dero FC in the first match of the season at Nyirima Grounds Siaya, and coach Makori is optimistic of a winning start.

“Although we’re experiencing financial challenges, we’re well prepared to play Dero FC at their backyard and the boys are well training ahead of the match," he said.
