Firework is expected in Nyandarua County’s Ol Kalou town on Saturday when established and upcoming athletes face each other during the third leg of Athletics Kenya cross country meeting.

The event set to be held at the Arboretum located next to the Ol Kalou stadium is expected to be a full house as runners from Central and South Rift regions who could not attend the first leg in Machakos and the second one in Iten, Keiyo Marakwet find convenient to travel to the town due to ease of travel.

Nyandarua AK chairman Francis Kamau Mwaniki said preparations are complete adding that the course has been altered a little.

“Only 500 mitres have been affected by the charge, otherwise the rest of the course remains as it were last year,” Mwaniki said.

Part of the route has been affected by ongoing construction work of a swimming within the arboretum.

Among the athletes expected are from local training camps, KDF and police whose runners have been training in Nyahururu town.

They have been building up on speed at the Nyahururu stadium.

Beatrice Chepkemoi who was fourth in last month’s Ravine Half Marathon confirmed that she will be running tomorrow as a build up to track season.
