This victory marked Gor Mahia's fifth consecutive win over City Stars and their 15th in the last 23 league meetings.

In the match, Omala ended his seven-match drought, while Kevin Omondi recorded his 15th clean sheet in 22 starts.

With this win, Gor Mahia moved to 47 points, opening an eight-point gap between them and second-placed Posta Rangers.

Tusker FC, sitting third with 37 points, completed a double over KCB Football Club on Sunday in Machakos.

They stand out as the best offensive side in the campaign with 29 goals and boast the second-best defensive record, conceding only 14 goals.

Kenya Police's six-match unbeaten streak leaves them on 37 points. They have won five and drawn one of their last six matches under the leadership of Salim Babu.

Bandari FC also hold 37 points after securing their 11th win of the season, defeating struggling Nzoia Sugar 2-1 in Bungoma. They are currently unbeaten in their last three away matches.

Kakamega Homeboyz's goalless draw against AFC Leopards in the Ingo Derby propelled them to 33 points, maintaining a two-point lead over AFC Leopards, who have shown improvement after a slow start to the season.
