Harambee Starlets forward Jentrix Shikangwa Milimu hopes to return refreshed and well-prepared for the remainder of the season after the coronavirus pandemic that disrupted various leagues across the world.
Speaking from Sigalagala, Shikangwa who also features for Vihiga Queens revealed that she has prepared a personal training programme which she follows every day from six to eight in the morning as one way of maintaining her fitness.
“Playing at higher level is not a ride in the park you have to remain at top always and this has remained my main motivating factor so that I can maintain my position.
“My training programme has not been affected. The only thing that I miss at the moment is group trainings, but working alone has made me re-evaluate and asses my performance am trying to work out on how to improve in some areas that am weak.
My coach at Vihiga Queens Alex Alumira is also following me keenly and giving assistance through online platform and I feel I am making some good progress that will make me an all-around player and remain at the top.
“My desire for all my colleagues who are currently at the break is to encourage them not just to sit down and relax but rather find a place where they can at least train to maintain the good shape.
“As ambassadors of football we should also join the government and other stakeholders on the sensitisation of the threat being posed by the dreadful Covid-19 virus,” she says
She warns against some traditional and cultural activities being practiced in some parts in the country that can compromise and expose the public to the diseases which has remained a major challenge to the whole world.
