With the start of the National Super League (NSL) days away, there is a lot of movement of players being witnessed already.

NSL has benefitted more in the process with clubs snapping big name players into their fold. The biggest beneficiary so far is former KPL side Nairobi City Stars who want to make impact in the division after disappointing campaigns in the past.

Former AFC Leopards defender Salim Shittu Abdalla has crossed over to City Stars after being discharged in the off-season from Ingwe and is expected to add stability to the backline.

He will be joined by former Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia left back Wesley Onguso, who returns after two years with offensive midfielder Levis Opiyo from relegated Vihiga United and striker Nahashon Thiongo from financially- strapped Mt Kenya United. Bandari’s midfield dynamo Anthony Muki Kimani has also joined City Stars after falling out of favour with the Dockers.

Goalkeeper Morgan Alube has been snapped from Chemelil Sugar and will be tasked with keeping Vihiga United safe. Coach Sammy Okoth hopes his experience will be worthwhile.

Journeyman forward John Nairuka formerly of Ulinzi Stars and Posta Rangers has found a new home in NSL newcomers Muranga Seal. The Central region side that clinched the Division One Zone A championship will be hopeful that the former talisman gets his scoring boots right from the word go.
