Record Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League Champions Gor Mahia will begin their FKF Cup campaign against Division One side Kibera Soccer FC after a draw conducted yesterday at the Kenya Institute of Special Education in Nairobi.

Gor Mahia are holders of the cup after their triumph against perennial rivals AFC Leopards in 2021.

The draw involved 11 FKF Premier League clubs, eight FKF National Super League clubs, six FKF Division One clubs, and seven Regional/County clubs.

Seven-time champions AFC Leopards will tackle Ruiru-based Division One team Zetech Titans in their request for continental football.

Former winners Tusker will face 2019 Eastern Region Chapa Dimba Champions Berlin FC who are based in Garissa.

Michael Olunga’s football academy (MOFA) will participate in the cup for the first time and has drawn FKF Premier title chasers KCB.

The matches are set to commence on Saturday 11th February at various venues across the country with the final set for the 24th June this year.

Winner of the competition will represent Kenya in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup.

Football Kenya Federation has an obligation to submit country’s representative to CAF by end of June this year.

The local football governing body is already in talks with a myriad of potential sponsors for the tourney that was last held in 2021. The availability of a commercial partner for The FKF Cup may affect match venues, day and times as well prize money.
